A Letter To Our T-Ball Families...

The following letter went out to all our T-Ball Families yesterday...

Good Afternoon Spartan Families-

I am writing to let you know the St. George Minor Ball Executive has made the very difficult decision to cancel the TBall season this year. At this time we have been notified by the County of Brant that, as a result of the social distancing mandate, we will not be able to use the ball diamonds before June. At that point (assuming we can even get on the fields then) we will have lost half the season. The remaining weeks simply do not afford us the time required to run a strong program for the players.

Full refunds will be made to all participants who had registered. These refunds will be made by Interac Etransfer to the email address you provided when you registered your child. I can assure you that our treasurer Natalie McDonald will make every effort to process these refunds quickly - but it will take some time. I would ask that you allow up to 2 weeks for her to work through this. Our bank platform allows us only to process a limited number of interac transfers at a time, so it would be extremely helpful for us if you could deposit the transfer as soon as you receive it. If you would like to leave your fees with us as a contribution to our program please let me know. We always welcome the financial support of our community.

For those of you with older children also registered to a team, we are at this point in a bit of a holding pattern. St. George Minor Ball is following the lead of Softball Canada and Softball Ontario. At this point all programs have been cancelled at least through May 31, but there is some hope and suggestion that there will still be a season - just starting later than usual. We would ask that you be patient and we will make a determination as soon as we receive information from the governing bodies.

We know that the cancellation of the TBall season will come as a major disappointment to our young players. We want you to know that we are just as disappointed, but know that this is the best decision to ensure everyone's safety. In the event that the diamonds are opened up as we get closer to summer, and the social distancing mandate is relaxed we will plan some fun activities (free of charge) for these kids and look forward to seeing everyone out in 2021.
