Select Tryouts
Submitted By Wendy Johnstone on Tuesday, January 16, 2018
Tryout dates have been set for our Select Teams. We will run Select teams in all categories where numbers permit. In order to try out for a Select Level team, you must be registered with St. George Minor Ball. In the event that you do not make the team and would like to switch to another Center, we will offer a 75% refund off your registration fees.

Tryouts will be held at the Brantford Bobcats Facility at 92 Grand Street in Brantford. The cost to tryout is $10 per player which covers the cost of the facility rental. This is payable by cash or cheque at the start of the first tryout. Please email [email protected] if you intend to try out for a team to help us plan for the correct number of players.

The Schedule is as follows (subject to change based on registration numbers):

Atom Boys: Saturday, February 24 9:00-11:00; Sunday, February 25 9:00-10:00

Squirt Boys:  Saturday, February 24 11:00-1:00; Sunday, February 25 10:00-11:00

Girls are permitted to try out for the boys teams. Underage players are permitted to try out for teams 1 level above their level. The $10 payment is required for each team they tryout for. Please keep in mind that these tryouts are not designed to be practices. If you are trying out for a level above your regular level you should be confident that your skill level and commitment to the program is strong enough to warrant a spot on a higher level team.

Atom Girls:  Saturday, March 3 9:00 - 11:00

PeeWee Girls:  Saturday, March 3 11:00 - 1:00

Additional tryout time will be added for the girls teams if required based on numbers. At this time we do not have the numbers for a select level team for Squirt Girls or PeeWee boys. However, the regular team will still be entered into tournaments and ORSA Playdowns.

The coaches for our select teams are aware that many players have commitments to other sports that will conflict with the tryouts. Players will not be penalized if they need to miss part of the tryouts. In the event that additional assessment is required, this will be arranged at the trailers.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding our Select program, please email [email protected]

Once the Select teams have been set we will begin selecting coaches for our House League teams.
